Ok, I admit that I have been drinking for the past few...well, it doesn't matter. I just finished bottling some wine that I made (from a kit).
I was going to post my outrage over a human rights issue that I have just run across, but I'll do that later.
I am now watching Carousel on DVD. This is excellent music in the best American tradition. If you haven't seen it, get it and watch. It is exceptional. American musical theater is a uniquely American art form of great value, and this is one of the best examples of it.
I'll do the serious stuff later. Now is the time to enjoy something splendid.

Music in the grandest American tradition, derived from British operetta which was devised as a response to the dour subject matter of the Italian opera, telling the story of a subservient, slavish battered girlfriend. Yay America.
